Diploma Workshop
All students are required to attend our Diploma Workshop, conducted online by our Chief Examiner and Faculty Director.

The workshop is designed to prepare candidates for the Listening Theory Exam, with a focus on:

-
Identifying the key components outlined in the Diploma Syllabus.
-
Structuring clear and accurate written answers.
-
Practicing through guided mock scenarios with step-by-step feedback.

The session is recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel, allowing you to revisit the material as often as needed.

Diploma Examination Structure
Our diploma examination is divided into three segments:

-
Part 1 - Teaching Assessment
-
Part 2 - Listening Theory Examination
-
Part 3 - Live Performance

Part 1 - Teaching Assessment
The teaching assessment evaluates a candidate's ability to share their musical knowledge effectively. Diploma candidates will conduct a short 20-minute teaching exercise and will be assessed on their ability to communicate clearly and engage students.

Part 2 - Listening Theory Examination
Unlike traditional theory exams, our examination takes a more practical, applied approach. Candidates will have one hour to listen and identify a series of Ragas, Thalas and other elements of Carnatic Music, presented by our Faculty of Arts Director and Chief Examiner. This assessment aims to highlight the importance of active listening and applied theoretical understanding.

Part 3 - Live Performance
The final segment of the diploma requires each candidate to deliver a 45-minute live performance alongside an accompanying artist. This performance is presented to the Examination Panel and a live audience. This experience is designed to build confidence, refine stage presence, and strengthen the ability to collaborate with accompanying artists. It serves as an opportunity for candidates to showcase their artistry in a real-world performance setting.
