How Your Exams are Marked

Grade One & Grade Two

For Grades 1 and 2, only a Practical Exam is required. Your final score is based solely on your performance in this component.

Grade Three - Seven

To receive a final grade for Grades Three to Seven, you must complete both a Practical and Theory Examination.

Your final score is calculated by taking the average of your Practical and Theory exam results. For example, if you score 80 in Practical and 70 in Theory, your final grade will be based on the average: (80 + 70) / 2 = 75, which is a Distinction.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm not happy with my final score or grade — who can I contact?
If you're dissatisfied with your overall grade or any part of your score, please don’t hesitate to contact us at admissions@asimexam.com. We’ll review your concerns and do our best to assist you.
Can I request a remark of my theory exam?
Yes, you can request a remark. Our examiners follow a rigorous and fair marking process. We assess answers based solely on their accuracy and relevance to the question—handwriting, drawing ability, spelling, and grammar do not influence your score unless they affect the clarity of your response. If you still wish to request a remark, please contact us at admissions@asimexam.com.
My theory or practical score is low — can I retake the exam?
Absolutely. If you feel there are specific areas you’d like to improve, you’re welcome to retake the exam. We recommend reviewing our exam syllabus, which includes guidance on how to approach questions, what examiners look for in answers, and examples of past student responses. This can help you prepare more effectively for your next attempt.
